The two Paintings that impacted me were
A. Robert Morta Chilean , 1911-2002
Oil On Canvas
B. James Rosequist's American , 1933
Nomad, 1963
To begin with , The Robert Morta Painting impacted me because it was just so outstanding , just so different. It was wild but it was as if every " wildness" had a connection .Each board bounced of the other . Nomad , James Rosequist's painting also impacted because of its uniqueness , it was very unique and i feel like Rosequist may have been expressing himself in some way and i cant put my finger on the exact emotion but that is one of the main reasons it impacts me .
The two paintings what connected with me were Robert Arthur Goodnough's The struggle which was created in 1957. Hes an american artist who was born in 1917 and deceased in 2010. This piece connected with me because the title is so different from what i saw in the painting , I didn't see struggle but beauty because of what it took to get there. This connects with me for many reasons but, mainly because i feel like that's how people look at me in real life. They can call me one thing but if you look at me and my personality they are truly different. Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's Frauenbidnis ( portrait of a women } also connected with me . He is a German artist . I connect with this painting mainly because of the fashion he chose for this women its really pretty and it inspires me to dress so elegantly because i've been wanting to for so long. i express myself through fashion.
The two paintings or pieces of work i should say that i wanted to know more about were Julian Obie's Julian and Suzanne walking . I wanted to know more about this art piece because i wanted to know the relationship that was between suzanne and Julian , and what inspired him to make such a piece. George Wesley Bellow's Ellinor, Jean , and Anna is a very interesting painting to me . I wanted to know more about this painting because of the expression that was on the little girls face . She looked so sad , like she did not want to be in the predicament she was in , between those two ladies and a book in her hand . I was really interested in knowing how she was feeling or why the author gave her that expression .
You definitely showed interest in these art works. With Robert Arthur Goodnough's piece The struggle, it's kind of like judging a book by it's cover. You read the title and expect to see one thing but once you see it it's not what you expected. I used Julian Obie's Julian and Suzanne walking in my blog as well but the picture I took, the female was following the guy. I found it interesting how they switched places and like you said I would like to know the story behind their relationship.
ReplyDeleteWith the artwork "The Struggle", we both had that as a painting that connected to us. I picked it in a little different way than you did, but honestly after reading what you said about it, I see it in such a different way. You are right though it is beautiful. I think a lot of people see me just like you say they see you. They see one thing but can experience such a different personality when they know me. I think you did a great job picking out the artwork and really explaining each piece and what they meant to you.
ReplyDeleteIt really looks like you put a of time and thought into the pictures that you chose what they inspired in you. I really enjoyed the pictures you chose!
