Elements and principles project

For this project we were asked to find photos that represented various Elements and principles for instance , Texture , Value and Lines some of the various categories we had. This here is what i have come up with , photos that I believe represent these categories in the best possible way .

This to e was a very fun and exciting project for the simple fact that I struggled with it in the beginning .  I learned a lot especially about proportions and finding the differences between them . For Lines i chose a door surrounded by a brick wall which were also created by lines in an essence. Lines taught me that they are made up of everything . The most difficult portion of this project was movement because though almost everything and everyone are moving at all times it is hard to prove so in a photo. The picture i chose for movement was a girl running , anyone looking at it can tell that she is running just by looking at the position she was caught in the picture. All aspects , For balance i chose the door nob in my dorm simply because for a door whatever is on one side is necessarily not on the other but there is always another knob on the other side. All aspects of this project were truly interesting , Texture , shapes, forms, values, emphasis, unity, movement, lines, contrast, and pattern . All , very impotant factors that play in almost any photo that make up almost every photo.

  1. I agree! In the beginning I struggled with this project as well but once I reread the definitions of the elements and principals in the text and did a little extra research on google, I was able to complete the project. The example the professor uploaded was useful as well. As far as your slideshow, it definitely seems like you understood the definitions as well. I love the picture you used for movement, like you said anyone can tell that she was running at the moment. And I also agree that many of the elements and or principals show up in one picture and it was hard for me to determine which one I wanted to use for which term.

  2. I think you did very well on this project. I love that you seemed to think out of the ordinary for a lot of them. I think I like the way you did value the most. It was a great way to capture that element. Also, emphasis was awesome! The way that red bench really pops out from the white house was a great example. It looks like you put some thought into this project and it payed off because you did really good!
